Sarah Schrantz
Head Coach
Sarah is returning for her fifth year as coach, second as HEAD coach! The Makos are thrilled to have her back. Sarah graduated from The Ohio State University as an Early Childhood Education major. She graduated from Sycamore High School in 2021. Sarah swam for the Montgomery Makos every summer since she was 5 years old and also swam for Sycamore High School. You can find Sarah at the pool outside of Makos practices as she also works as a pool manager. Sarah is excited for another summer here with the Montgomery Makos!
Olivia Shields
Assistant Coach
Olivia will be joining us this year for her second year as a Makos coach. Olivia joined the Makos swim team when she was 7 years old and also swam Varsity for Sycamore High School and on the club swim team at the University of Cincinnati. Olivia just graduated from UC and plans on going into the field of medicine. Olivia is so excited to be back with the Makos!
Lily Cowan
Assistant Coach
Lily is joining the Makos as a coach for her very first season! Growing up Lily swam for the YMCA and was a varsity swimmer for Anderson High School. Lily has previous coaching experience for another pool in the Cincinnati area. Lily has accepted a job as a nurse at Cincinnati Children's since graduating from the University of Cincinnati this spring.
Maddie Friend
Assistant Coach
As a dedicated Makos swimmer since she was 5 years old, Maddie is thrilled to join us this summer for her first year as coach. Maddie has also swam with the Cincinnati Marlins since she was 8 years old. Maddie may be a familiar face to some of you since she works at the Montgomery Pool as a lifeguard. Maddie is excited to attend Indiana University this fall as a freshman studying psychology.
Sophia Simon
Assistant Coach
Sophia is joining the Makos as her first year as a coach. Sophia swam for the Makos for every summer since she was 5! She also has swam with the Cincinnati Marlins since she was 8 years old. Outside of swim practice, you can find Sophia working hard as a lifeguard at the Montgomery Pool. This fall, Sophia will be a freshman at the University of Florida studying medical physics.
Dominic Mangano
Assistant Coach
Dom is joining the Makos for his first year as a coach. Previously, Dom swam for the Makos starting at just 5 years old! You may recognize Dom as a veteran employee of the Montgomery Pool. This fall, Dom will be a senior at Ohio University. He is pursuing a degree in education with plans to be a high school social studies teacher. Dom is trilled to have the opportunity to coach this summer!
